Shepherd huts at The Victoria

Shepherd huts nestled betweenHolkham Park and the North Norfolk coast

We’re excited to share the news that next spring, we are adding four new self-catering shepherd huts to our accommodation at The Victoria in Holkham Village. From Spring 2025, they will be beautifully landscaped and ready to host you for coastal getaways and rural relaxation.

Each hut is beautifully crafted by Lincolnshire Shepherd Huts, with interiors designed by local designer, Johanna Tennant, who also designed The Victoria and Ancient House during their refurbishments. Full of charm, the huts will be lovingly cared for by our team, offering the perfect place to while away a few days with your loved one, your dogs, or a sanctuary for a solo getaway.

Located overlooking the meadow within Holkham Village, the shepherd huts are within walking distance of stunning Holkham Beach, Holkham Hall and deer park, and the Holkham National Nature Reserve on which the huts are themed.

As well as these captivating landscapes, you’ll also be just over 1.5 miles from the well-loved seaside town of Wells-next-the-Sea. Visit and you can enjoy its many independent shops, cafés and restaurants, bustling quayside and beach. Several North Norfolk villages, market towns and attractions (such as Houghton Hall, Sandringham, and the National Trust’s Blicking and Felbrigg) are just a short journey away. These, together with the fine city of Norwich, all offer the perfect day out.

The shepherd huts will be available to book for three, four or seven nights — perfect for your next short break or holiday in Norfolk.

Please note: Bookings can be made starting on Mondays (for 3, 4 or 7 nights), Tuesdays (for 3 nights), Fridays (for 2, 3 or 7 nights) or Saturdays (for 2 nights).

Handcrafted by Lincolnshire Shepherd Huts

The shepherd huts are well underway, each being carefully created by hand by Lincolnshire Shepherd Huts.

“We chose Lincolnshire Shepherd Huts as their build quality was some of the best we found,” says Ben Hunter-Watts, Managing Director of The Victoria.

Jamie and Karly Hugill – the husband and wife duo behind the business – have been involved in the planning and design of the huts, and are keeping us updated with their progress.

There’ll be more photos and updates to come as the build progresses.
