Summer Garden and Outdoor Living Fair
Garden and Outdoor Living Fair
New for 2024, we will be hosting our Garden and Outdoor Living Fair in summer too!
This June, a wide range of stallholders will bring plants galore, crafts and decorative items, and other gardening goodies to help you create that ideal outdoor space and get your garden looking gorgeous this summer.
With exhibitors displaying a wide range of plants from bulbs to begonias, hostas to hydrangeas, gardening essentials and ideas on how to create that ideal outdoor space.
Join our walk and talk tours, at 11.30am and 2pm, around the beautiful setting of the walled garden including tours of the Samuel Wyatt vinery.
You will also have the chance to quiz the gardeners between 11-11.30am and 1.30-2pm, so get your questions ready!
Book ahead to get your adult ticket for £5.50, or pay £7 on the day. Children £1.
Plant Bug Clinic with Dr Ian Bedford
Visitors will also be able to pop along to the ‘Plant Bug Clinic’ marquee to chat about their garden plant bug issues with local entomologist Dr Ian Bedford. Sessions will run from 10-11am, 11.30am-1.30pm, and 2-4pm.
Dr Ian (aka the Norfolk Bug Man), is regularly seen and heard talking about bug-related topics through the media and at garden clubs throughout East Anglia, and, hosting Holkham’s Plant Bug Clinic, he’ll happily examine any specimens that you wish to bring along for him to identify.
Dr Ian will also be explaining the most environmentally-friendly ways to control problematic garden bugs and, how to encourage the beneficial ones into our gardens.
Also, we will all be aware that Britain’s native butterflies are currently in serious decline, so Dr Ian will explain how our home gardens, no matter what size they are, could provide perfect places for butterflies to visit and safely feed on nectar-rich plants on their journey to find a mate and lay eggs.
Using environmentally friendly products that protect plants from damage without harming the garden’s wildlife, is also an important aspect of trying to help butterfly numbers to recover, so Dr Ian will be showcasing some of the products that he’s tried and tested in his own wildlife-friendly garden.
