How much flexibility will I have when planning my wedding at Holkham?

One of the best things about getting married at Holkham is the flexibility it offers brides and grooms. Whether you would like to create a lavish party for 250 of your friends and family, or a smaller wedding celebration, there is a venue and wedding package for you. We also offer completely bespoke weddings, for you to create your own unique and special day.

Do you help us choose our suppliers?

We have a list of preferred suppliers, which range from local independent Norfolk businesses to some of the UK’s biggest and best-known names in the wedding industry. If you choose one of our wedding packages, we have handpicked a selection of the best suppliers to help deliver your special day. When it comes to bespoke weddings, you have complete control over which of our preferred suppliers you use.

Can I put my creative input into the planning?

Yes, completely, if you want to! The wedding spaces at Holkham lend themselves beautifully to creative styling. If you’d like a blank, modern canvas to work from there’s the Lady Elizabeth Wing – a dedicated event space. If alfresco and wild is more your thing, put a marquee up in our Walled Garden or outside the ethereal Temple. None of the spaces we hold weddings in are pre-dressed so you can have complete creative control. For brides and grooms that might find this overwhelming, choosing The Marble Hall or one of the State Rooms would overcome this issue; they are already so stunning, they need little to no decoration to make an impact.

How many weddings do you plan a year?

We can hold anywhere between 30 and 40 weddings a year. We treat each couple as a complete individual and never hold more than one wedding on a day so you have exclusive use of our wedding venues on your special day.

Can you work within our budget?

While our wedding packages are set prices, costs do vary depending on the time of year, or day of the week you’d like to get married on, so it’s always worth talking to our weddings team and letting them know what your budget is. When it comes to bespoke weddings, the budget is more dictated by you and dependent on the venues that you choose. We also have late availability and special offers running throughout the year.

How often will we meet before the wedding?

Initially, we will invite you to a showround where we will walk you through the journey of your wedding day at Holkham. Once you have chosen Holkham as your venue, you will meet our wedding planner who will listen to your vision and offer helpful guidance on timings, suppliers as well as anything crucial you need to think about. During the course of your planning, you may visit Holkham has often or a little as you like, and if you are planning from a distance, we are always at the end of the phone.

Do you handle all the contracts and payments between suppliers?

If you decide on one of our luxury wedding packages, we will confirm the suppliers for you and you will be able to liaise directly with them on the detail; menu choices, flower inspiration and your unique setup for the day.

If you choose a bespoke wedding, we are on hand to help guide you with your choice of suppliers when it comes to booking them. Our team have excellent knowledge of the variety of styles our suppliers offer and can help you decide which is best suited to you as a couple.

Will you coordinate timings and deliveries from suppliers and events rental companies?

Yes, we will do everything, you don’t need to worry about any of the logistics on the day. We will have liaised with the suppliers ahead of your wedding day and be on hand at the venue before your ceremony and reception to ensure everything is set up as you’d like and we’ve discussed. You won’t even need to put out the place names on your tables.

What will your role be on our wedding day?

We will be present throughout your wedding day from start to finish to make sure everything runs smoothly, show guests where to go and troubleshoot any problems before you even know about them!

What happens if you are ill on our wedding day?

We are a team of four, and we all know the details of a wedding. So if your contact is ill on the day she will be replaced by an equally wonderful member of our team who will already know your wedding and the details of your day.
