Shepherd huts are coming to The Victoria

We are thrilled to share the news that The Victoria are adding four beautifully handcrafted, self-catering shepherd huts to their accommodation offering in Holkham Village. The huts will be ready to stay in from Spring 2025, and are bookable now.

Nestled between the sweeping sands of Holkham Beach and the stunning views of Holkham Park, The Vic’s shepherd huts are the perfect location for a break in North Norfolk. Whether you’re looking for a coastal escape, a romantic getaway, a weekend in nature, or an attraction and stately home filled holiday, you’ll find all of this and more near the huts.

Huts handcrafted by Lincolnshire Shepherd Huts

Each hut is crafted by Lincolnshire Shepherd Huts. The cosy interiors are being designed by Johanna Tennant, who has previously worked on refurbishments of The Victoria, Ancient House and Holkham Lodges.

What’s inside The Victoria’s new shepherd huts?

Each hut will sleep up to two people. Within the hut, you’ll find:

• A king-sized bed with dog den underneath, for up to two dogs
• A well-equipped kitchen with an oven, fridge freezer, induction hob and tea and coffee facilities
• A breakfast bar with meadow views
• A shower room
• Beautifully scented Norfolk Natural Living toiletries
• A sofa to cosy up on
• A smart television
• An outside patio with seating and a BBQ
• Central heating
• Towels and bedding provided
• EV car charging point

Can guests use the facilities at The Victoria?

The shepherd huts will be located just a short walk from The Victoria’s main building. When staying, you will be welcome to enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner within the restaurant if you don’t fancy cooking inside your hut or making use of the BBQ. Bed and breakfast packages are available.

The Victoria’s restaurant received two AA Rosettes in 2023 and two AA Rosettes and AA Silver in 2024. Seasonal, locally sourced dishes are on the menu, and diners can enjoy wonderful views across the marshes and big skies of the Holkham National Nature Reserve.

The Victoria’s collaboration with Annette from North Norfolk Natural Therapy means you will be able to book and enjoy an in-room (or in-hut!) massage during your stay.
