Mother’s Day is coming up on Sunday 19th March. If you’re looking for something to do with your mum in North Norfolk, look no further! Join us at Holkham for a memorable day out, whatever your mum’s tastes (and whatever your budget)!
Spend quality time together on a long walk
One of the best presents is being present with a loved one, without the distractions of day-to-day life. Why not enjoy a gentle stroll around Holkham Park, a wander along the shoreline, or a walk under the pines?
For just £5 parking in Holkham Park or at Holkham Village, you can enjoy a day in our spectacular setting, enjoying nature together while nattering away.
Enjoy a drink and a slice of cake at our cafés
Wells Beach Café, the Courtyard Café and The Lookout will all be open, serving up hot teas, coffees and hot chocolates alongside traybakes, cakes and pastries. Larger lunches are available in the Courtyard Café.
Why not walk between two or three of the cafés? It makes for a lovely stroll with refreshments at both ends – perfect!
Treat mum to a meal or stay at The Victoria on Mother’s Day (or anytime of year!)
Book a table and tuck into a delicious lunch dinner at The Victoria. Head Chef Michael and the team create dishes full of seasonal goodness, with indulgent desserts to follow! Whether your mum prefers savoury or has more of a sweet tooth, there’s plenty to choose from. View our sample menus here and please do book ahead, especially for Mother’s Day.
Even better, plan a night or two away! The Victoria’s perfect location provides the ideal setting for a break, just a few minutes’ walk from the Hall, Park, beaches and National Nature Reserve. Many of the twenty bedrooms can be booked with twin beds if you’re happy to share, or you could book two rooms with interconnecting doors. Whether you plan to stay local and relax or venture to other villages and towns along the coast, you’ll certainly give your mum a break she’ll love.
Get creative together
Learning a new skill (and laughing about it in the process!) is a wonderful way to have fun together. We have a range of workshops coming up at Holkham, each teaching creative skills to beginners or those more advanced. Take your pick from the workshops below, taking place on various dates in March and April.

Splash out in the gift shop or at Holkham Village
Our Courtyard Gift Shop and the stores in Holkham Village offer a range of lovely treats which make for great gifts. Our gift shop stocks beautiful homeware, artwork, tasty food, items for pampering and much more, so there’s bound to be something your mum will adore.
Down in Holkham Village, you’ll find Adnams stocking their beers, wines, spirits and a range of kitchenware. Nearby, Everything Outdoor sells country clothing and gifts.
Book a beach hut
Heading to the beach for Mother’s Day? Take your trip to the next level by booking one of our beach huts on Wells Beach. Whatever the weather – we all know March can be rather changeable! – you’ll be able to enjoy the stunning views with a bit of protection.
