Cafe Team
I started working at Holkham by applying online through a local advert over three years ago. A typical day at the Courtyard Cafe begins with greeting the team and finding out if any functions around the estate will involve us that day. We then start to prepare for the day by putting away the deliveries, turning on the machines, ovens and dishwasher. Hot food then needs to be cooked, and we begin to prepare the fresh sandwiches and salads for the day. Throughout the cafe opening hours, we all work together to ensure all aspects of the role are covered in producing the food, drink and welcome to the customers.

Pinewoods Site Warden
I am a warden at Pinewoods and have been in this role since June 2018.
I’m not sure that I can define a typical day for a Pinewoods warden! We have daily checks and duties to carry out, but a large percentage of what we do is reactive. So, we must react to, and deal with, any situations that present themselves on any given day! We quite literally have no idea what we might be doing from one minute to the next. We mainly take care of all the maintenance work on the holiday park itself, but we also help to look after the pine woods and in the holiday months we provide a presence on Wells Beach too.

Forester
Before joining the Holkham Forestry Team in 2020, I was a Gardener at Pinewoods for three years.
Our job as Foresters at Holkham is so varied, we do so many different things. A few of my main roles include felling in thinning/clear fell operations, clearing wind blown trees, plantation maintenance, planting trees in the winter months, pruning our young trees and delivering biomass to Holkham’s biomass boilers in the park. The timber that is produced from our felling work is dried chipped and used in the boilers.
