Bus Conductor

Bus Conductor – Wells Beach Bus

We have a fabulous opportunity to join our team that would suit someone looking for a different and exciting customer facing role as a conductor.

This is a great opportunity to be part of a team running a fantastic seaside shuttle bus operation at Wells-Next-The-Sea. The shuttle bus operation starts for Easter and runs to the end of October.

We are looking for confident communicators that get on well with people. You must be patient, reliable and calm under pressure. This role really would suit a bus enthusiast as our Tiger bus is a real gem and this presents a rare opportunity to be involved in a vehicle with a lovely back story.

You will form part of the frontline shuttle bus team as a conductor out on the road. You’ll work with a bus driver on our fabulous 1951 Leyland Tiger, looking after passenger safety and providing a great customer experience, taking payments and assisting the driver as banksman when turning the vehicle.

We have invested in two exciting vehicles. The Sigma 7, a state-of-the-art fully electric bus, is the first of its kind in the UK. This bus forms the backbone of the operation. On the busiest days of the summer, the Sigma will be joined by a real classic. Our 1951 Leyland Tiger has a stunning history working across the Channel Islands, Edinburgh and a return to Jersey before we imported it in 2021. It is a one of a kind with its open top and optional canvas roof.

Due to the nature of the operation, we can offer flexible working hours to the right candidates. We very much perceive these to be annual returning positions.

Experience working with customers, preferably in a tourism/leisure business is favourable.

Pay rate: £12 per hour pending 2025 pay review. Various shifts available throughout the operational season.
