The Attic Sale

For most of us, the loft is a rarely ventured space to store unwanted items, held onto ‘just in case’ or out of sentimentality. Holkham Hall’s attics and cellars are little different, except the forgotten treasures stored there have far greater interest. Our attic sale, to be held by Sworders Fine Art Auctioneers, showcases over 400 treasures that have resided in the storerooms, attics, and cellars of this renowned Palladian estate.

Among the standout lots are Roman marble fragments collected by the 1st Earl, and 18th- and 19th-century plaster busts. The sale also includes Victorian china, clocks, and an array of furniture, blending high-value pieces with more accessible items that capture the spirit of a classic ‘attic sale.’

The catalogue will be published in January with viewing held on 7th-10th February, ahead of the sale on 11th February 2025.
